The Great Recession has fundamentally changed the trajectory of both real estate and transportation in the United States. For the past century, our nation's economy revolved around the production of vehicles, highways, sprawl, and more vehicles. Transportation policy emphasized a supply-side approach of building highways to increase the speed and mobility of our nation's vehicular-based mobility system.

For Pittsburgh resident Mike Neilson, proprietor of Used to Be a Pizza Hut, the iconic hump-roofed structure brings back happy memories of growing up the 1980s in the suburbs of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Back then, Pizza Hut pizza was "the de facto standard," he says, to be eaten while playing tabletop Pac Man games. A few years ago, Neilson moved to Pittsburgh, where he works at a company that develops mobile apps. He immediately noticed that when people in his new home gave directions, they often used bygone landmarks to guide the way.

The City of Orlando notified the two companies who bid to set up and manage a bike share program in the city that CycleHop (Website), who recently purchased Orlando based SunCycles, ranked the highest. The City will now work to establish a contract with CycleHop and get final City Council approval. CycleHop’s proposal included a setup where users will pay a monthly, weekly or daily membership fee to rent the bikes. Members would then get one hour of free bike rental each day. After that they would pay a small fee.

Flow Festival is a music and arts festival in Helsinki, Finland. The next, 10th edition of the festival will be organized on 9–11 August, 2013. The music presented at Flow is a strong and varied selection of up and coming and established artists from indie-rock to soul and jazz and from folk to contemporary club sounds, both from the Finnish and the international scene.

Alongside interesting and topical music, Flow is about urban spaces, visual arts, cosy decoration, quality of services i.e. good food and drink.
