“It’s good to see more stuff coming out of Orlando,” said Willa Riggins, president of FamiLab, about Factur. “It sounds like they will be a little more structured, which serves a slightly different market. [Factur] seems like they do more prototyping.”
There will be daytime memberships for businesses, evening memberships for those that want to work on a personal project on a regular basis, weekend warrior memberships for people just getting started and full memberships. Brown says he hopes to attract all types of members. This might be an engineer working on a project for work, an artist building his next piece, a teacher working on their lesson plans or the hobbyist who just wanted to try to build something this weekend.
The ODD website (orlandodesigndistrict.com) lists a roll call of designers, print shops, vintage stores and ad/branding/marketing agencies in the area. It aims to function as an online directory of creative professionals, serving both as a resource for potential clients and a magnet for similar new firms.

The new venues are within walking distance of the Fringe's home base of Loch Haven Park. Theatre Downtown, at the corner of Princeton Street and Orange Avenue, is about a half-mile away; The Venue, a new hall at 511 Virginia Drive, is slightly less than a mile from the park.
