The unique skill and taste of an Instrument Maker is what sets the stage for great music. Any object that makes sound can be an instrument, but true music starts with expert design and craftsmanship. Before Miles Davis could play his trumpet, there was a Maker who built his sonic tool.

My Recommended Anime

Mon, 07/23/2012 - 11:51 -- rprice

It's hard recommending #anime to people whose only exposure has been Dragon Ball Z, Sailor Moon, and Poke'mon - all series meant for a wide or young target audience. It's further complicated because anime is at its best when viewed subtitled instead of dubbed, which many people are reluctant to try.

Impending Drupal Site Launch? Use the List | Zivtech

Thu, 06/07/2012 - 11:50 -- rprice

Every team wants their deployment process to be as close to a gentle push into deep waters as possible. At Zivtech we've launched many Drupal sites, and have compiled a checklist that we use to help things stay snag-free. We typically run through the checklist several days before launch, once the site is already on its production server(s). It ensures we didn't miss anything critical to a live site and reminds us to change settings that are appropriate only during the development cycle. This list is geared toward Drupal 7 sites but can be used for earlier versions with little difference.

The top 10 open source web fonts | Feature | .net magazine

Thu, 06/07/2012 - 05:36 -- rprice

finding fonts that were allowed to be used online was difficult to say the least, but the mere utterance of the word "open source" was nearly a felony to type designers everywhere. Today we have individuals standing up, creative typographers conquering new ground, foundries dedicated to the movement, and not only acceptance, but widespread usage from big-name companies to amateurs just messing around.

I'm here to give you a tour of not only the best open source fonts available, but how you can get started contributing, and what my vision is for where it's going.
