2 Weeks Away from Blogging

Thu, 10/18/2007 - 21:15 -- rprice

I haven't announced this yet, but in an effort to get Petentials launched that much sooner, I decided I was going to take a month off of blogging - it's more like 2 weeks off, 2 weeks in England, 2 more weeks off.

Still, I find that in the past several weeks, between moving downtown, ELLA Fest and Drupal Drupal Drupal Drupal Drupal, I've missed hearing about what's going on with my friends and the people I follow but haven't yet befriended.

BarCamp Orlando, Pats on the Back

Mon, 09/24/2007 - 06:56 -- rprice

What an awesome event. Taste was absolutely packed. Lots of new thoughts and networking, lots of ideas for iteration #2. I heard the next 'camp might only be 6 months away. With 4 podcast networks in Orlando, though, I'm gonna push for PodCamp. It doesn't need to be anything huge, just a day for us to get together and swap ideas and techniques. Podcasting is so personal and self-taught. There aren't any college courses on podcasting, so it would be great to unload some of what we know on the newbies.

One (seemingly) easy way to do that is through video. I've been saying for a long time that video is tangible and instantaneous, whereas audio takes concentration and time to absorb.

Apple drops price of iPhone by $200, gives cookies to the losers

Thu, 09/06/2007 - 17:32 -- rprice

I heard about this yesterday when Apple announced their new line of iPods, including a device that does almost everything the iPhone does except make calls, dubbed "iPod Touch". Today, Steve Jobs wrote an open letter to everyone who's already bought an iPhone that says "tough crap, I'll give you $100 gift card, go away, you bother me." Obviously, the tech bloggers have something to say about this.

Here's my response to Jeremy Harrington's Thoughts on iPhone Price Drop:
